Dawson Online Classifieds is a homegrown online classified site for Dawson Creek.

Dawson Creek is serviced well by paper classifieds in various forms but not so well in online classifieds.  Most online classifieds are just electronic files of the papers, which are published and not updated very often.  If you enter your classified past a deadline you have to wait for it to appear in the next issue.  If you pick up the paper a day or so after it is published, you miss the deals.

Dawson Online was created as we saw a gap in this area with regard to online classifieds.

Paper Classifieds become outdated quickly as items sell but there is no way to indicate such in a paper copy – with Dawson Online sellers can either take an item offline or mark it as sold.

People have mentioned how hard it is to find anything in Dawson Creek online such as rentals, items to buy, etc. when are you from out of the area.  We know of several people who when trying to move here were unable to find a private rental because they mainly appear on bulletin boards and in newspapers, etc.

As Dawson Online evolves we want to expand the focus of it to become a useful and helpful resource for the community in many ways.
